Join us this MLK Day to assemble disaster relief kits and make a lasting impact –– Learn how you can help!
Did you know that six million children under the age of three live in poverty in the US? Did you know that diapers are not covered by assistance programs like food stamps (SNAP) or the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program? Without diapers children can’t attend daycare or early childhood education.
Lutheran Congregational Services, a division of Liberty Lutheran, is stepping up to make a difference in these children’s lives by joining forces with the Philadelphia Diaper Bank. This partnership will increase distribution of disposable diapers in the greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas, by making diapers available to food pantries served by our SOS (Share our Surplus) distribution ministry.
We’re also reaching out to our Lutheran congregational community to help with the critical need for diapers.
How Can You Help?
- Volunteer to prepare donations for distribution.
- Host a diaper drive at your church or place of work.
- Identify food pantries or non-profit agencies in your area that would benefit from diapers.
- Identify contacts at retail stores that may donate or discount diaper cases that were damaged or returned.
