Around the holidays, many rejoice in cherished traditions that bring meaning and joy to the season. A practice in a number of church denominations is the observance of the season of Advent. Advent is a time of reflection in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Celebrating one of their cherished traditions, Lutheran Congregational Services begins this holiday season with the publication of their Advent Devotional.
Given that Lutheran Congregational Services seeks to be a resource to congregations, it is always the hope that the Advent guide brings a bit of peace in the midst of holiday preparations that can seem sometimes overwhelming!
Julia Menzo, director of community outreach for Lutheran Congregational Services and Liberty Lutheran
For Liberty Lutheran, our relationships with congregations and ministry partners is part of our mission to faithfully accompany individuals and families who are facing life-changing situations. Through an empowering approach that honors their choices and wellbeing, Liberty Lutheran and Lutheran Congregational Services have been able to positively impact nearly 34,000 people across Pennsylvania this year with services and offerings that enrich the mind, body, and soul.
Each year, the people who make a vital difference throughout and alongside LCS’ programs and services, write reflections, prayers, and stories that are published in the LCS Advent Devotional. We hope that their words bring you inspiration, comfort, peace, and joy throughout the days of Advent and through this holiday season.
